The independent Motor Industry Ombudsman of South Africa (MIO) has developed a unique project to protect both buyers and sellers of pre-owned vehicles from unscrupulous behaviour.
This exiting development is known as the TRANSACTION PROTECTED PROJECT.
In terms of the TPP pre-owned vehicles on offer by subscribing dealers are sold by means of a MIO sanctioned contract or by adding a binding clause to the dealer’s Offer-To-Purchase document.
Should a dispute arise between the two parties, the matter will be mediated or arbitrated at no cost to the customer if the parties cannot resolve their differences within 14 days after the dispute arose.
