TRANSACTION PROTECTED PROJECT (TPP) FOR PRE-OWNED VEHICLE DEALERS
The TRANSACTION PROTECTED PROJECT (TPP) protects both pre-owned dealers and the public from unscrupulous behaviour. This is done by means of a MIO sanctioned contract between buyer and seller or by adding a binding clause to the dealer’s Offer-To-Purchase (OTP) document. Should a dispute arise between the two parties, the matter will be mediated or arbitrated at no cost by the MIO. The TPP establishes an independent forum for speedy, effective dispute resolution between pre-owned vehicle dealers and buyers resulting in a significant saving in dealer management time. If correctly communicated, subscribing to the TPP will result in peace of mind for the buyer and clearly will attract customers to subscribing pre-owned dealers and should result in increased sales. Subscribing pre-owned dealers will be able to inform the motoring public that he/she is a part of the TPP by displaying the logo of the Ombudsman at his premises, on advertisements and stationary. The names of subscribing pre-owned dealers will appear on the Ombudsman’s web site as well as in all related advertising in the local as well as national media.
